Formed in 1958 by optometrists and ophthalmologists from around New Zealand with an interest in achieving healthy eyes and good vision for their patients, and sharing that knowledge….

Our membership has broadened in recent years to include a wider range of New Zealand health professionals and researchers with a special interest in the health of the anterior eye.

Our members have a common interest in providing safe, cutting edge vision correction, healthy comfortable eyes, and promoting research into anterior eye health and contact lens development.

We foster education and collegiality among our members… to help us all learn more and ultimately, give better outcomes to patients under out care.

Our education events are characterised by excellent research based education, great social events, and a degree of informality.
